ConstructionWorks

OVERVIEW

ConstructionWorks—Powered by the Illinois Tollway is designed to create a pipeline of diverse men and women ready to enter careers in the heavy highway and related construction industry.

ConstructionWorks candidates are skilled, work-ready, and represent most trades recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor including equipment operators, carpenters, electricians, ironworkers, cement masons, and laborer.

The Challenge: Can the construction trade unions create a program to elevate the accessibility of black and brown individuals, provide in-demand skill trade training and assert an overwhelming amount of equitable hiring practices for regional contractors.

Inclusion is the foundation not just for inclusion of individuals but also the supply chain of businesses.

As an economic engine for the region, the Tollway provides small, diverse and veteran businesses and individuals with opportunities to grow and succeed through our training programs, strategic partnerships and investments in infrastructure.
